Chris Faraone – “What Happened to Those Occupy Folks?”

Chris Faraone is a co-founder and the current editorial director of the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism, and the editor of Talking Joints Memo, which covers cannabis in Massachusetts. A former DigBoston and Boston Phoenix staff writer, he covered Occupy Boston extensively, as well as other encampments across the country. Those writings are compiled in “99 Nights with the 99 Percent,” his first book. In the time since, he has published many other independent longform projects including liner notes for iconic hip-hop artists such as Cypress Hill, Nas, and members of the Wu-Tang Clan. Chris recently launched the video podcast Great Investigations with the goal of helping people navigate the news more critically.
